The Indo-Peruvian Friendship Association (Bharat-Maitreyi Samiti) was created in June 2007, as a civil organization with the objectives to promote knowledge and friendship between India and Peru; to expose Peruvian culture and Spanish language; to cooperate in the cultural exchange of Professors and Students of both countries and to help to show the different manifestations of Peru and Latin America to the Indian community.

The Association is formed by students and Latin-American researches from the main Schools of Hispanic Studies of different universities in Delhi such as Delhi University; Jawaharlal Nehru; Jamia Milia Islamia, y el Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan who has the responsibility of managing and directing the referred association.
